About The Event

Nine "sparkling, poised and powerful" voices of Echo Vocal Ensemble present a headline performance in the unique acoustics of Union Chapel. The concert begins at dusk and will end at sunset, in an exploration of light and darkness, featuring music spanning 5 centuries - from Tallis and Monteverdi right through to contemporary artists. Expect Echo's unique brand of eclecticism, including improvisation and folksong in an immersive, surround-sound performance.


Described as "sublime, spirited…completely assured" (The Arts Desk), Echo Vocal Ensemble is an adventurous group of singers known for their flexibility, innovation and excellence. The group has performed at Queen Elizabeth Hall, at Sadler’s Wells, as Ensemble-in-Residence at Ryedale Festival and live on BBC Radio 3.The ensemble first met as part of Genesis Sixteen, the young artists’ scheme run by The Sixteen, and has gone on to develop a reputation for innovative programming and multi-disciplinary work.
